Experts Inside Your Team, to a Written Standard — from day one, no scoping cycle
Methodology-trained engineers embedded in your team, from 40 hours a month with a 1-month notice. Dedicated expert time immediately, no per-request scoping, no work orders, working to a craft standard that isn’t negotiable.
What You Get
Dedicated time inside your team, your cadence, your tools, no per-request scoping, no work orders between you and the work.
Our people write tests, document as they go, and review properly, because it’s who we send, not because your process demands it. The standard is written down, so it doesn’t depend on who shows up.
Using hours you already pay for: we walk your delivery process, wire up the instrumentation (crash tracking, test tracking, a dashboard), and review it on a regular cadence.
Your engineers work next to people who ship with AI on a disciplined codebase and get faster the same way, capability that stays after we leave. The tools reward a craft standard; without one they multiply the debt instead.
Who Owns What
On team augmentation, you own delivery. We guarantee a skilled, methodology-trained expert, that the time was spent, and that the craft standard holds in everything they touch. But they work inside your process, and if it has holes (priorities that shift mid-sprint, decisions that wait weeks), the project can still drift. We’ll name it when we see it, but we can’t outrun it from inside a sprint. Want the delivery risk on us? That’s project development, and it costs more for exactly that reason.
The monthly commitment buys guaranteed availability of people who know your product, not credits we owe later. A light month goes into the codebase, refactoring, test coverage, documentation, so it always returns value, never a stockpile.
We guarantee the skill floor, proper onboarding of any replacement, and a managed transition, not a particular individual forever. Continuity of product understanding is what we actually protect, and it’s what matters.
When Brival is the whole team, we prescribe the proper shape: developer, QA, PM, and push back when QA is cut as “just a cost.” We’ve cleaned up what cutting QA saves; the cleanup always cost more.
When Not to Hire Us for This
If you need a committed scope, date, and budget with the risk on us, that’s project development. Team augmentation gives you capacity, not a contractual outcome.
“Send me N hours of a developer,” no interest in the craft standard, nobody accountable on your side. We decline. The craft floor protects the code; it can’t protect a project nobody owns.
Under 40 hours a month, an embedded engineer never builds enough product context to be worth the rate. A smaller need is better served by consulting or a one-time audit.
What It Costs
Monthly availability rather than an hourly rate card, because what you’re buying is a team that knows your product, not interchangeable hours. The department install carries no upcharge. The 1-month notice keeps it honest: if the value isn’t obvious, leaving is cheap.
Questions Buyers Actually Ask
What happens to unused hours?
They don’t bank. The commitment buys guaranteed availability, not credits we owe you later. In a light month the expert spends the time on the codebase: refactoring, test coverage, documentation.
Can we take just one role, say, a single developer?
Yes, roles are à la carte (developer, QA, PM), and filling one gap is common. The exception: when Brival is the whole team, we prescribe the proper shape and push back on cutting QA, because we’ve cleaned up what that saves too many times.
Do we keep the same person for the whole engagement?
We guarantee team consistency, not a named individual forever. What’s protected is the skill floor, proper onboarding of any replacement, and a managed handover of product knowledge. Promising the same human indefinitely is promising what no one controls.
Who is accountable for delivery?
You are. We guarantee the expert, the time, and the craft standard; the roadmap and delivery run through your process, and if it has a hole, we’ll name it. Want delivery on us? That’s project development.
What is the department install, and what does it cost?
Nothing extra, it uses hours you already pay for. We walk your delivery process, wire the instrumentation (crash tracking, test tracking, a dashboard), and review it on a cadence. Optional and sequenced; we don’t assume you want the whole methodology on day one.
How is this different from a body shop?
The standard is written down and public, baked into who shows up (tests, documentation, real reviews), not negotiated per ticket. Body shops sell hours and let quality be your problem; we sell a craft floor. The difference is auditable: read the methodology, then read the code we ship.
The Standard, and the Record
The craft standard is the point: our people are trained to the written methodology, which is the difference between a craft floor and a body shop.

Tell Us the Gap — a role, a team, or a standard
A short discovery call: which roles, how many hours, what your process looks like, and whether we’re the right fit for it. If what you actually need is project development, we’ll say so.
